John Lowry announced Thursday he is running for the Samuel Miller District seat on the Board of Supervisors for a second time, but will do so as a Republican this go around.
Lowry, who plans to challenge Democratic incumbent Liz Palmer, made the announcement at the Crossroad Country Store located off of Route 29 in the district.
Lowry first ran for the Samuel Miller District seat on the Board of Supervisors in 2009 against Democrat Madison Cummings and Republican Duane E. Snow, who went on to win his only term on the board. ...
Some of the issues Lowry said he wants to focus on both in his campaign — and hopefully as supervisor — is economic development and how the county approaches land use.
Lowry said he has already filed paperwork with the Albemarle County Registrar’s Office, which Jake Washburne, general register, confirmed.
